JUNIOR LIVESTOCK AUCTION
Each year at the Montgomery County Fair, exhibitors come from all parts of the county to take part in the Junior Livestock Shows. These are a major part of the Fair and culminate with the Junior Livestock Auction. The hope, of course, is Grand Champion, but ultimately the goal is to place in one of the 135 sale slots by winning a top spot in the class the animal is exhibited in.
In 2019, the Livestock Auction soared to just under $860K!
In order to exhibit an animal in these shows, students must be a member in good standing of a Montgomery County 4H or FFA Club. Exhibitors may choose to show livestock including: steers, hogs, rabbits, lambs, broilers, turkeys and goats in each designated show.
A Buyer’s Reception for registered buyers will be held prior to the Junior Livestock Auction at the Lone Star Convention Center from 5:00 pm – 6:15 pm. This event requires a ticket for entrance. Tickets are $250.00 per registration which includes your bidder paddle, admittance for two and dinner, along with complimentary beer and wine. Additional tickets can be purchased for $100.00 each per person. The total registration payment will be credited to the Buyer’s 2020 Livestock Auction purchase invoice.
Please complete the online Buyer Registration Form below to register as a Buyer. Tickets can be purchased during the online registration process. A limited number of tickets are available and could be sold out fast.
The purchase of tickets to the Buyer’s Reception is not required to register as a buyer or attend the Livestock Auction however, pre-registration of Buyers is highly encouraged and appreciated.
